Mihela Erjavec
Senior Lecturer in Developmental Psychology at Bangor University, North Wales. Her research focuses on promoting children's health and wellbeing, developing evidence-based behavioural change programmes, and advancing early interventions for children and families. She is particularly interested in developmental behaviour analysis, maternal health, paediatric psychology, and the factors influencing family wellbeing.
Dr. Erjavec’s applied research includes designing and evaluating innovative healthy eating and activity programmes and implementing early interventions in diverse settings. She works with typically developing children in preschools and primary schools, children with disabilities in special schools, and families facing wellbeing challenges. Her cognitive development research examines the mechanisms of imitation and social learning in infancy and childhood.

John Pemberton
John is a specialist diabetes dietitian based in Birmingham, England, dedicated to empowering individuals with diabetes to confidently manage their health. John combines modern technology with traditional health principles. His innovative approach to structured education, including his "CGM Academy," introduces creative methods like the GAME-SET-MATCH strategy for optimal glucose. His proactive work supports Birmingham’s pioneering AID education programme, addressing disparities in access and glucose management among different ethnic and socio-economic groups. John was a co-author of the ISPAD 2022 Exercise Guidelines and EASD AID and Exercise Guidelines. He also contributes to the IFCC Working Group for CGM, working toward standardisation through ISO for CGM. His 2023 narrative review highlighted concerning gaps in publicly available CGM clinical data, particularly in Europe.

Silva Arslanian
Silva Arslanian, M.D., is Distinguished Professor of Pediatrics, and Professor of Clinical and Translational Science Institute at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine. She holds the Richard L. Day Endowed Chair in Pediatrics at the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh (UPMC CHP). She is the Director of the Pediatric Clinical and Translational Research Center of the NIH-funded CTSI, and the Director of the Center for Pediatric Research in Obesity & Metabolism at the UPMC CHP.
Dr. Arslanian obtained her medical degree from the American University of Beirut and completed her pediatric residency training at the same institution. She completed her fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology at the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Arslanian is funded by NIH, Research Foundations and Pharmaceutical Companies. Her research focus is insulin sensitivity and beta cell function during childhood growth and development, in health and disease (Type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, obesity, cardiometabolic syndrome, PCOS), racial disparities in metabolism, and pharmacotherapeutic advances in youth type 2 diabetes and obesity. Her patient-oriented research provided breakthroughs in discerning the pathophysiology of youth type 2 diabetes, the rapid deterioration in -cell function and therapeutic options. She has served the national and international scientific communities in various educational and advisory capacities.
Dr. Arslanian has more than 250 publications and is the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the 2023 American Diabetes Association Outstanding Achievement in Clinical Diabetes Research and the 2024 Prize for Achievement from the International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD) for her seminal contributions in advancing scientific discoveries in youth type 2 diabetes, childhood obesity, insulin resistance and beta cell function.

Mohammad Dubayee
He is the director pediatric lipid program,and deputy Chairman, Department of Pediatric at King Abdullah Specialized Children Hospital, Ministry of National Guard, Riyadh, additionally; Associate Professor, and associate Dean, office of Research, college of public health & Health Informatics, King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Science (KSAU– HS). He received his Pediatric Endocrine training in Vancover, Canad and completed a Master of Health Science in 2010 from the University of British Columbia.
Beside his clinical duties he undertook various administrative roles. He is the formal Chairman of Saudi Board Pediatric Training Committee in Central Region, and clinician educator in CanMEDS Collaborating Center. He Chaired the Research Committee, College of Medicine, and the Chairman Of Students Research Board at KSAU-HS and served as the pediatric residency training program director for 2 years.
He has contributed to various national and regional Arab Society for Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes ASPED educational activities in addition to his role as formal chairman of education committee in ASPED, he published in different areas of Pediatric Endocrinology.

Hamad Haidar
Dr. Hamad Haidar is a pediatric endocrinologist. He has completed his pediatric residency at Kuwait Institute for Medical Specializations (KIMS), Kuwait. He has Canadian Fellowship in pediatric Endocrinology from McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Hamad is a member of many professional organizations including the Canadian Pediatric Endocrinology Group (CPEG) and the Canadian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism (CSEM) and the Pediatric Endocrine Society (PES). He currently works as a pediatric endocrinologist at Adan Hospital, Kuwait.

Huda Saud Al-Duwisan
Dr. Huda is a leading Consultant in Family Medicine, renowned for her contributions to healthcare and public health in Kuwait. A Fellow of the United Kingdom’s Royal College of General Practitioners, she currently serves as the Vice Chairperson of the Yarmouk Health City Coordinating Council and the Head of the Yarmouk Primary Health Care Clinic, the first WHO-recognized Healthy City in Kuwait.

Wafaa Laymoun
Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Mansoura Faculty of Medicine, Egypt, and Consultant of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes at Mubarak Hospital, Ministry of Health, Kuwait.
An active member of ESPE, ISPAD, ASPED and GAED.
Author of more than 25 manuscripts published in international journals, and a reviewer for several prestigious journals.

Mohammed Hudda
He is an applied biostatistician currently working within the Population Health Department at the Dasman Diabetes Institute, Kuwait. Mohammed’s primary research over the past decade has focused on applying his expertise within statistical prediction modelling to improve the assessment of childhood adiposity and investigate the long-term consequences of childhood obesity. He has published several papers describing the development and extensive validation of his novel method for assessing body composition in children which relies solely on readily available measurements of weight and height. He was awarded the competitive Pfizer Global ASPIRE Obesity Grant to conduct his current research which seeks to investigate the long-term impact of high childhood fat mass levels and develop novel thresholds to define obesity which are based upon long-term disease risks.
